 ARMS AND AMMUNITION

Rifles and ammunition can either be imported by the hunter or provided by the outfitter. Firearms are imported to South Africa on a temporary import permit valid for the duration of the hunt at no additional costs.

Bow hunters may bring their own equipment and no import permit is necessary for bows.

A shooting range is available to do sighting of the rifles and bows to ensure that everything is in order.

PASSPORTS, VISAS AND INSURANCE

Customs clearance is effective at your port of entry into South Africa. Only a valid passport is required for your entry into South Africa and Botswana. While every effort is made to ensure our clients safety, no responsibility can be accepted for any illness, accident or loss.

It is highly recommended that adequate insurance to cover personal accident, medical expenses, loss of baggage etc. is acquired prior to departure from home.

TRANSPORT

Upon arriving in South Africa at OR TAMBO International Airport, you will be met by our Professional Hunters. Pick-up, drop-off and all other road travel for the purpose of the hunt is provided at no extra charge.

To ensure a trouble free safari, well equipped hunting vehicles are used during our hunts.

At the end of your safari you will be transported to your departure point by your Professional Hunter.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

Excellent doctors and medical facilities are available close by. Although we maintain basic first aid kits, you are responsible for any personal medications needed. Please also inform us of any medical conditions that you might have. Some of our hunting destinations are malaria areas and precautions must be taken.

We recommend that you check with your physician regarding health regulations and immunization requirements prior to departure.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Your family and friends are welcome to either join the hunt or just come to observe.

WEATHER

South Africa is generally blessed with good weather. During winter (May to September) it is mild to warm during the day but can get quite chilly in the early mornings and evenings.

The region has dry, mild winters.

Summers are hot to very hot with occasional thunder storms from October to April.

CLOTHING

A jacket or sweater will suffice for the cooler mornings and evenings of the winter months. Comfortable cotton clothing in natural colors is recommended. A hunting hat and well worn comfortable boots is a necessity.

HUNTING LICENSES AND PERMITS

Some species require CITES Permits.

We will assist you in obtaining these once your safari is booked and confirmed.

TROPHIES

We offer field preparations at no extra cost for your trophies. Our expert skinners are well trained to take care of your trophy and they will be supervised by your professional hunter. From there your trophy will be personally packed and transported to the taxidermy of your choice after the chemical preparation has been completed.

A minimum fee is charged per trophy for administration and delivery to exporting taxidermy.

Insurance on trophies in transit can be arranged by us on your behalf.

HUNTING AREA

All hunts are conducted on prime hunting territory, which are privately owned conservations stretching accross thousands of acres of breathtaking and bountiful veldt.

HUNTING SEASON AND DURATION

Hunting season continues throughout the year, however certain time periods are more favorable.

March to September is the best time to hunt. The suggested duration of a hunt is between 10– 21 days, depending on the trophies required and thus allowing you to get both a full and good quality bag of trophies.
